What is ELAC?
Palm Springs High School’s ELAC (English Language Advisory Committee) is comprised of parents, staff, and community members specifically designated to advise school officials on English Learner program services. ELAC meetings are held throughout the year. Who can join ELAC? All parents and guardians of English Learners at Palm Springs High School are invited to join ELAC. Speakers of all languages are invited to join. What are ELAC Responsibilities? ELAC’s responsibilities include advising the principal and staff on programs and services for English Learners and the School Site Council on the development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). What can I expect from ELAC meetings? The first ELAC meeting will consist of an election for parent representatives (President, Vice President, Secretary, DELAC Representative).
