Classical Guitar Ensemble
The Palm Springs High School Classical Guitar Ensemble is an amazing performance group made up entirely of classical guitars. This group breaks all the common beliefs of bands with guitars. This group ranges between 25 and 50 young musicians who play an assortment of music ranging from classical, to jazz, blues, rock, pop, flamenco, and folk. This group is a popular group throughout the Palm Springs and surrounding areas by performing in the community an average of 20 times a year. This group is truly an amazing addition to Palm Springs High School and the community.

Jazz Band
The Palm Springs Jazz Band provides a journey to the golden days of swing and Big Band in Palm Springs. This group performs at charity and community events, country clubs, private functions, conventions, trade shows, and dances. The band has performed twice at the NAMM trade show in Anaheim, North America’s largest music trade show featuring over 1500 music related vendors and performers. They have also performed for and with Barry Manilow, Suzanne Somers, Monty Hall, Carol Channing, Max Weinberg and have opened for the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Stan Kenton Alumni Band, Ted Hermann Band, and many more The group has also been seen on Entertainment Tonight, the BBC, CCTV, TMZ, and in 2011 were featured in an award winning documentary with trumpet virtuoso Chris Botti entitled “Sing, Sing, Sing!”. More than eighty percent of the band members are on the school honor role and one hundred percent of the group’s graduating seniors qualify for colleges or university

Spirit of the Sands Band
The Palm Springs High School “Spirit of the Sands” Band Program is an internationally recognized, award-winning band. In 2017 they received the NAMM music Merit Award as one of the outstanding Music Education programs in the country and in 2015 they received the Grammy Foundation Signature School Community Award. The band hosted the World Championships for the World Association of Marching Show Bands in 2017, the first time it was held in the United States. The Marching Band made history in 2006, becoming the first high school band ever to march in a Pride parade in 2002. The band have performed for President Ford, President Bush, and President Obama and was selected to march in the 57th Inaugural Parade representing California. They have also performed in Croatia, Slovenia Italy, Taiwan, South Africa, China, Australia, New Zealand, France, Wales, England, Denmark, Sweden, Scotland , and Canada. They are the Official Band of the City of Palm Springs and are proud to represent city, state, and country wherever they perform.

Symphonic Orchestra
The Palm Springs High School Symphonic Orchestra is a huge success in their home town of Palm Springs as well as throughout the entire the Coachella Valley. This group is currently in their 8th year after having been removed back in the early 1980's. As the only public high school orchestra in the Coachella Valley, this group performs standard classical literature as well as popular pieces, movie scores, jazz standards, folk songs, and festival works. Over the past six years, this group averages an amazing fifteen performances a year and performs around twenty pieces of music a year. This group is also proud to be part of starting several elementary school feeder programs in the local valley as well as the Palm Springs High School's Valley Strings Community Orchestra.

Vocal - Madirgals, Concert Choir And Chorale
The Palm Springs High School Vocal classes and ensembles range between 15 and 50 young musicians who sing an assortment of music ranging from Broadway, to classical, jazz, blues, rock, pop, and folk. This group is a popular group throughout the Palm Springs and surrounding areas by performing in the community an average of 20 times a year. This group is truly an amazing addition to Palm Springs High School and community. Chorale is for beginners to choir, followed by chorale for the 2nd level students, and Madrigals for the top singers.
